Abstract
|
|
|
We treated 10-year-old male patient having chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic
purpura with large intravenous doses of immunoglobulin. The patient received 0.3g of
I.V.-GlobulinR per kg of body weight a day intravenously for 5
consecutive days.
The platelet count rose sharply within 5 days reaching maximum on 9th day, but
returned to pretreatment level on 22nd day. There was no untoward effect either during
or after infusion of immunoglobulin.
Intravenous immunoglobulin treatment turned out to be safe and effective in ITP.
